It has made visitation much smoother with little to no inmate movement. It has allowed inmates to visit family and friends from all over the country. I personally love the investigation tab and that we can assist other agencies in obtaining offender recordings. We have utilized the Voice, Video, and Mail apps to assist in other cases that we otherwise would have had no knowledge of the inmate being involved in. Cidnet has also taken the place of our in-person visitation, freeing up staff time and making it easier to monitor; in addition, the inmates like being able to speak with and see family members any time during their “out” hours instead of just one day per week.

There are many things I like about Cidnet. First off, it gives the inmates access to voice and video CUEs and the option to put in requests and grievances in the privacy of other inmates. I also like how easy it is for detention officers to manage the website. Screening an inmate’s contact list is an important part of the safety of the facility.

The first thing I noticed would have to be the system. It’s user friendly for the inmates, as well as the officers. Being able to to receive grievance forms directly to your phone or laptop. Has shortened the response time officers can reply. Also the visual aspect of the systems interface. Looks very up to date unlike our previous platform. I’m looking forward to learning what more we can do with this system as our Detention Center grows with Cidnet through the years.
